9 Philosophical Reasons to Like the Holosync Meditation Program (Over 140,000 Users in 71 countries is Reason #10!)

People often ask me to tutor them in meditation, but in most cases that's impossible. I'm just not there or don't have the time.

Still, many people would like someone to personally help start them on the path, or at least orient them in the right direction.

I do as much as possible to accomplish this with all my books, but for sure there's more that can be done.

Even when people read a book telling them about all sorts of meditation techniques and the principles of cultivation practice behind them, if they haven't meditated before it's the rare person who wouldn't benefit from an experiential lesson in meditation.

That's really what people are after.

"Sit me down and show me what I have to do" is what they want. They want to make sure they're doing meditation right.

So what do I recommend for these people?

If you are a beginner and have no teacher and absolutely need someone to hold your hands with guided meditation, you might consider the Holosync program to get started at meditation. For more information just click on the following: Holosync meditation program. Frankly meditation instructions are free, so why pay? Only if you feel you need to sit down with a guided meditation program, and that's where Holosync might come in handy.

After you use the Holosync program to get started on the path and meditation practice, the hard work of forming the HABIT of meditating will have been done and then you'll be able to go on from there to bigger and better things if you'd like.

There's lots of meditation methods you can try to find the one that suits you best, but you have to form the habit of meditating in the first place. That's where the Holosync audio program comes in.

The biggest hurdle for beginners is just to get started at meditation and the Holosync method of listening to taped sounds is great for that.

Why do I like the Holosync program?

There's a couple reasons other than the fact that it's a simple, high quality way to get you started.

It's not just the fact that it's easy. Rather, I like the following characteristics of the product: It's based on science, it has no religious involvements, it's easy to use, and is produced by a top outfit.

In short, I feel safe putting you in this product's hands to get started at meditation.

What I REALLY like most about Holosync is the philosophy behind the program because much of it aligns perfectly with various teachings of true cultivation that have been commonly discovered by Hinduism, yoga, Tantra, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Shintoism, alchemy and other spiritual schools.

I don't care how you get started at meditation as long as you get started. Most people will usually switch their practice technique many times in their life anyway. So the key is to get started in a way that's aligned with the correct philosophical pillars of practice.

While it does not get into the esoteric realm, the Holosync program recognizes quite a few of these correct pillars.

Let's take a peek at THRESHOLDS OF THE MIND, the new book by Bill Harris who is the originator of Holosync, to see some of these pillars. Inside we find several valid principles about cultivation that are incorporated into the Holosync program itself:

1. The principle of letting whatever happens be okay.

Guess what? Whatever happens is your karma, so there's no reason to rant and rave about the stuff that happens in life.

For some reason, from some past life or combination of past lives or just this life, you've experienced a result and deserve it. Stop resisting the way things are and put your energies into transforming them or transforming yourself.

That's true cultivation. It's all about wisdom and behavior - how to transform things for the better (through wisdom and correct effort) and committing oneself to do so.

2. The principle of threshold.

Did you know that everyone has a trigger point, a threshold above which they have trouble handling their life and their environment?

The great thing is that meditation has been proven to raise various thresholds. The Holosync program, over time, raises your stress threshold and helps you ignore dysfunctional impulses that might impel you. That's triumphing over what Buddhism calls the volitions skandha.

3. The principle of chaos and recognition.

Chaos is an essential part of the growth process. Whenever you try to change someone, or just grow, resistance is encountered.

If that's the natural scheme of things, is that any reason not to put in the effort to try to change things for the better? You need some meditation technique to get started on the path and sure enough you'll encounter difficulties or chaos as soon as you begin. Accept it and get over it.

It's like getting a new job or learning Microsoft Word for the first time. Initially you feel awkward during the orientation period, but then you become a pro.

4. The principle that the map is not the territory.

We are not our bodies. We are NOT our thoughts.

Even in terms of cultivation, you can measure progress in terms of jing, chi and shen, or skandhas, elements, levels of consciousness and so forth, but none of them truly exist in the ontological sense. So don't cling to any of these maps and insist they ARE the reality. Don't cling to rules of discipline either and insist they ARE the path, or that your religion IS the way or ONLY way. Don't confuse the map with the territory.

The ultimate target of spiritual cultivation is to become awakened to the real nature of your mind which we call Tao, original mind, absolute nature, God, and so forth. If you cling to the map or rules of discipline insisting they ARE the path, you're just plain wrong. Holosync helps you wake up to this fact.

5. The principle of responsibility as empowerment.

Look ... what comes to you is your karma, plain and simple. Whether you give in to it or struggle to change it, it is all up to you.

Take responsibility because by the law of karma, no one can take responsibility for you just as no one can save you. Rather, you have to save yourself, and meditation is the first step for accomplishing this goal. In fact, you cannot save yourself unless you get the Tao and there's no way to get it except through the route of meditation and letting go of thoughts and turning awareness around to see the true nature of your mind.

6. The principle of conscious change.

You're inundated by all sorts of thoughts and feelings every moment. There's nothing wrong with the fact that bad things arise, but where people go wrong is that they hold on to the negative stuff that doesn't serve them. Bad thoughts aren't wrong when they arise, but afflicted INTENT is wrong.

If you want to change your fortune you must do as Confucius taught: first cultivate awareness (through meditation) and then practice stopping what you want to change. That's really cessation-contemplation practice. Anyway, the point is that only with awareness can you realize the need for change and activate your willpower to change. That's conscious change for you.

7. The principle of witnessing.

The principle of stepping aside and watching yourself is basically the principle within cessation-contemplation practice to become a third person observer who watches (observes) their own thoughts and thereby learns how to detach from them to reach "cessation."

Cessation is the absence of a noisy mind of mental chatter, a state absent of discriminative thought we call emptiness, that's achieved when random wandering thoughts have died down. Good meditation techniques not only embody these principles of cessation (mental silence) and contemplation (witnessing), but teach people that these ARE the principles of cultivation practice in most meditative techniques.

The Tien-tai (Tiendai) schools of Buddhism, Taoism, Zen, Christianity and even Confucianism all overtly espouse the principle of watching to attain samadhi. I like the Holosync program for openly recognizing this principle, for this is a key to true meditation progress.

8. The principle of good and bad generalizations.

Bill Harris wrote, "Since whatever you believe and focus on comes true in reality, you can create whatever life and whatever reality you want once you learn to consciously choose what you focus on."

True, true, true.

You can build any karma you want, any result you want. Determined focus, with discipline and consistency, will lead to samadhi and that one-pointed concentration will produce results.

You can read the story of "Liao Fan" to learn more on this or just attend one of my lectures on how to change your fate, fortune and destiny. One day I'll finish a new book on this, but until then you can reference Liao Fan's "Ledger of Merits and Demerits for Governing the Mind" and Benjamin Franklin's "Plan for Moral Improvement."

9. The principle of the neutral universe.

The universe IS neutral. Karma is neutral; interdependent origination is neutral.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING as an ego, living being, or life either, so even that's neutral. The idea of an independent existence is an unreality also which is why awakening to the Tao is called realizing true selflessness or non-ego.

In a neutral universe, there's also no way to escape karma just as Shakyamuni Buddha taught. So much more could be said on this, but I'm just outlining a few of Bill Harris's comments and showing you how they align with standard cultivation principles.

As you can see, I like meditation techniques that have the right philosophical basis behind it all. A husband and wife couple wrote me about the Holosync program,

"Just to let you know that we have been doing the Holosync meditations since the beginning of December and we have found the system fabulous. In three weeks, we move on to our next 6 months of work. During some of the work we have done, it is not clear what happens to us. We seem to disappear and then come back to consciousness. We get full back up from the company, with everybody experiencing different things but it has been great overall. It certainly does make you sit for a certain part of the day every day and we cannot thank you enough for introducing us to it."

Another testimonial ... typical of the ones I receive about the Holosync program:

Hi Bill,
Just wanted to thank you for referring me to Centerpointe. I decided to order the CDs, and have been using them now for about three weeks now. I have noticed a real drop in my stress level. And it can only be attributed to the Holosync CDs. Thank you once again, and I will tell the Centerpointe people that I was referred by you. Peace and smiles to you and yours,
Farooq Khan

So while I could say more, I'll just leave it at this: if you want a good starter meditation technique because you cannot get started on your own with all the free instructions available everywhere, look up the Holosync program. I once produced my own guided meditation CDs but no one was interested, so this is the best I can offer at the moment.

Just click here to find out what the program's creators have to say and then decide for yourself.

P.S. The Holosync program is the only other meditation product I have ever endorsed for getting started.Of course, there are fantastic sources of information on Meditation and How to Meditate listed on our home page.
